The grounds of the old army barracks downtown Lovech turned into a full-blown festival town, complete with a dedicated camping site for Lovech Rock 2016 festival.

The event was headlined by fans' favorite Pretty Maids and Unisonic who visited Bulgaria for the second time, after their show at Kavarna Rock Festival 2015.

Unisonic is a German hard rock band established November 2009 by former Helloween vocalist Michael Kiske together with Dennis Ward and Kosta Zafiriou from Pink Cream 69. Later they were joined by Mandy Meyer of Gotthard. In 2011 the band was joined by Gamma Ray leader and Helloween co-founder, Kai Hansen. The band released the EP Ignition and their first studio album Unisonic in 2012. Their second album Light of Dawn appeared in 2014.

Pretty Maids are a Danish hard rock/heavy metal band from Horsens, Denmark. Created in 1981 by lead singer Ronnie Atkins and guitarist Ken Hammer, backed by Allan Tschicaja on drums and Rene Shades on bass guitar. This was the hard rock/heavy metal veterans' third visit to Bulgaria who also made an appearance at the 2014 Kavarna Rock Festival.

Axxis, Rage, Scarlet Aura, An Theos, Kikimora and Konkurent also made guest appearances at the Lovech Rock Festival 2016.
