Formed in 1991 by guitarist Thomas Youngblood, KAMELOT has established itself as one of the leading bands in contemporary symphonic and power metal. The line-up also includes Sean Tibbetts (bass), Oliver Palotai (keyboards), Tommy Karevik (vocals) and Alex Landenburg (drums), who joined the band for their latest album.
Over the years, KAMELOT have been regulars at some of the world's biggest rock and metal festivals, including Wacken Open Air, Hellfest, Graspop Metal Meeting, Sweden Rock Festival and Masters of Rock, where they consistently impress with large-scale stage productions and highly emotional performances.
Their latest album The Awakening, released in 2023, marks a new creative peak for the band. It is the first record to feature drummer Landenburg, whom Youngblood describes as "extremely creative, cool and positive". The album combines elements of symphonic, gothic, melodic, progressive and power metal, and features some of the heaviest compositions in KAMELOT's history. Previous albums such as Heaven (2015) and The Shadow Theory (2018) achieved significant success in the US, reaching #1 on the US Hard Rock Albums chart and #2 on the US Hard Music Albums chart, respectively.
