Legendary German heavy metal act Halloween added Bulgaria to their "Pumpkins United" world tour and we had the rare opportunity to see on stage side by side guitarist Kai Hansen and singer Michael Kiske on December 14th at "Arena Armeec" hall, Sofia, Bulgaria.
Seven musicians hit the stage that night, including current Helloween singer Andi Deris and guitarist Sascha Gerstner, giving the fans the opportunity to hear Helloween songs in their original line up. "Pumpkins United" are: Michael Kiske - vocals, Kai Hansen - guitar, Michael Weikath - guitar, Markus Grosskopf - bass, Andi Deris - vocals, Sascha Gerstner - guitar and Daniel Löble - drums.
"We are extremely happy to give the Bulgarian fans this experience. We had the chance to see the band in its original line up for the first time in 20 years.", say the organisers at Bulgarian Live Music.
The idea for the "Pumpkins United" tour came up in 2015, when the band comes to the conclusion it is time for another chapter in their story. "To play Helloween songs with Unisonic has always been a great feeling, but to play them in the original line-up along with Andi is something truly special.", says Michael Kiske.
The super-tour kicks off on October 28th in Brazil and passes through Latin America, Europe, Asia and the USA. "We had a great time during Hellish Rock 1 & 2, but now we will double the fun for sure", says Hansen. "There will be songs we haven't played live in really long time and some that we've even never played live", adds bassist Markus Grosskopf.
